Grid Computing News : Hospital Goes Digital With Help From IBM Grid
Massachusetts-based HealthAlliance Hospital turned to IBM to make the most of its picture archiving and communication system (PACS). HealthAlliance Hospital, a member of UMass Memorial Health Care, installed a PACS from Siemens Medical Solutions so it can move toward digital health records while eliminating traditional paper and film. But making those digital records widely available took a little help from Big Blue. With IBM's Grid Medical Archive Solution (GMAS), the hospital can now make patient records available to clinicians anytime, anywhere. GMAS, a cross-IBM offering composed of storage, software, servers and services, gives hospitals, clinics, research institutions and pharmaceutical companies an automated and resilient enterprise storage archive for delivering medical images, patient records and other critical healthcare reference information on demand.... read more
