Websense is using grid computing technology to speed detection of internet security threats. The company has launched a global network of adaptive security technologies and processes to monitor the internet for changes and emerging threats. The results are then incorporated into the company's Web security, messaging security and data loss prevention solutions. The system uses more than 50 million real-time data collection systems worldwide to monitor and to classify Web, messaging and data content, which the company claims allows it to adapt to emerging threats faster than traditional security and Web filtering solutions.
